About This Race
The South Downs 200 is a 200-mile continuous trail event traversing the South Downs National Park from East to West and back again. The route is essentially a big loop on a variety of different trails — mainly the Monarchs Way and South Downs Way. Entrants have 100 hours to complete the event whilst tackling rolling hills, forest trails, steep climbs and 22,000ft of elevation. This is a fully supported event with a marked route, 12 Aid Stations (3 of which are sleep stations with beds, toilets, showers, USB charging ports, WiFi, and hot food), and volunteers throughout. Crews and pacers are allowed; pacers can start from mile 50. The event is open to both runners and walkers and will be a UTMB Index race. Race HQ will be in Eastbourne where the race starts and finishes.
