The Suffolk Back Yard Ultra is Challenge Running's famous highly competitive Summer Backyard Ultra event, held at High Lodge in Thetford Forest. Run 4.167 miles every hour on the hour until only one person remains who can complete one yard (loop) in the one-hour time limit. The course is a flat and fast loop on firm ground — wide, well-maintained forest trails offer a beautiful and runnable surface perfect for settling into a rhythm and clocking up the miles. Free camping is available for all runners and their support crews, and a well-stocked aid station at the start/finish will have water and basic snacks. Chip timing is provided, and there is a prize for the event winner. A 6-hour and 12-hour entry option is also available at a reduced cost for those wanting to try the format or who have a specific time target in mind.
