A 110 km (68 mile) mountain ultramarathon in the Lake District linking seven valleys via high passes and remote upland terrain, with approximately 3,900 m of ascent. The course uses established mountain paths, valley trails and rough ground typical of central Lakeland terrain. Elevation is accumulated through sustained climbs and long descents between valleys rather than short undulation. Underfoot conditions vary from stone-pitched trail to rocky and uneven surfaces on higher ground, with exposed sections across passes. The route is marked with checkpoints and aid stations positioned throughout.
